Go Back   SheKnows Message Boards > Blogs > Chapter 11: Things of Lasting Value

Notices

It seems I'm the 11th blog on here, so I thought it appropriate to call this Chapter 11.

Life is full of chapters. I can see definate breaks when I look back at my life; turning points. I was glad to be the 11th blog started here because I feel I'm at a turning point between bankruptcy (just going through the daily grind with the only purpose being to make it through) and having a life with a lasting impact on those around me.

I sometimes feel bankrupt emotionally because I have too much clutter in my home... and on my body. It keeps me from pursing things of lasting value. I'm embarking on a journey to change that. I'd rather not post all this on my other blog so here it is. Care to join in the fun, cheer me on, or just see if I can make it?

Day 8 of 30... The Weigh In!!!

Posted 01-14-2008 at 04:42 PM by MamaFish
Yesterday (Sunday) was weigh in day. I lost 7 pounds in 7 days! I know it won't continue this way, but boy it felt great to see the drop.

I have much more energy and I'm not hungry during the day. That doesn't mean I don't still want to eat That's the hardest part; not picking up a bite to eat, not eating a piece of chocolate after lunch and supper. I did make the pudding out of the soy protein shake. It was very good. I'll put the recipe up.

Today (Day 9) I had the best food so far. Dh had grilled some chicken thighs yesterday with Montreal Steak seasoning on them. There were two left in the frige today. For breakfast I cut up part of and added it to my eggs, along with chopped baby spinach and yogurt cheese. For lunch I was going to eat the rest of the chicken along with a spinach and romaine salad with sliced almonds and Ceaser ranch dressing. I looked at the chicken, looked at the salad... chopped up the chicken and tossed it in. Then, for supper we had bunless hamburgers with the same steak seasoning, broccoli florets, and baked beans. I like baked beans with my burgers, but they're all made with sugar (ketchup, bbq sauce, brown sugar...). I made some with bbq seasoning, tomato sauce, and stevia. They were very good!

Things are busy around here for the next month, but I definately want to add some exercise to my life. We used to do Walk Away the Pounds and dh has done Slim in 6.
