Just wondering if anyone out there is dealing with Scoliosis (curviture of the spine), muscle degeneration cause by scoliosis
Mine was found when I was 13 (just after puberty). I have S shaped curve in my neck, and S shaped curve in my back, Back is 32 degree and 28 degree (NOT bad enough for surgury nor to qualify for Social security).
I'm looking for other's to share my experiences with. I feel alone in the world and no one understands what my life is like. I'm in pain all the time, always have been. I DO not want Perscription med's because it just masks the problems and I would like to be lucid and aware of my life passing me by. Most excercises are impossible for me to do to keep my muscles in shape, stretching is the only thing I can do and even it causes my muscles to seize (throwing me to the ground until seizing stops). The curve in my neck keeps me having Tension headaches on a daily basis.
My family, friends, aquantences can't "fathom" what I go through, therefore do not understand WHY at a moments notice I can on the ground in pain screaming, or at the least cringing in pain from a quickly onset migraine or a muscle spasm.
I can't commit to a Job outside my home because I would get fired pretty quickly for I would have to call in sick a lot over the muscle spasms, headaches ect (ending in 3-5 days of bed rest from torn muscles / tendons spasms). It's very tough in this economy to rely on my husbands job to support us (and our two kids). Even he is not very supportive of my condition.
Anyone out there that can remotely relate to me, please post a reply. I would love to have someone to talk to about this. Especially now that we just found out that my Daughter (age 7) has Scoliosis now too. It breaks my heart to know that she will be growing up in pain and suffering as I did and do.
