It is funny when you look back on your life and think about all the years you did everything you could to ensure that pregnancy did not happen. Then when you are ready for it to happen, you assume it will be easy and happen the way it is supposed to. I am still trying to figure out what all the little acronyms mean so bear with me if I don't have all the lingo down correctly. My husband and I have been TTC for one year with no luck. We were referred to an RE in fall 2008 and beagn the oh so fun journey of test after test after test. After determining that I have inconsistent ovulations and my husband has low motility, but high count, we have started prescription treatments and regular intercourse.
Last month I did Clomid 50mg on days 3-7 and got to have multiple pelvic ultrasounds. On day 16, I had two good follicles, measuring 18 and 24.7 so the doctor gave me my injection. I did ovulate on day 17 but then my cycle started again on day 32. This cycle I am on Clomid 100mg on days 5-9 and already scheduled for another ultrasound on day 16 for injection.
I was pretty nervous to start Clomid after reading about so many women who have out of control side effects. I did not want to become an angry, bitchy woman for five days. Thankfully, side effects have been minimal so far. When I did 50mg, I had some facial numbness on day one and then night sweats. So far on 100 mg, I haven't had any side effects.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who is in a similar situation
