Aiden's birthstory............
The 3rd of July 2003 Chrys drove me to Dr. Mah's office. I was having contractions. When she checked me I was 1 cm dialated, 39cm fundel. I left thereand went to Tammy and Tims with contractions getting fairly regular around 7 min apart. So we all went back to my apt in New West. Chrystal, Tammy and I went for a walk to the corner store ( Blue Jays market) where I had a spacecicle ice cream mmmmm... Came home, they left. went to bed around 1 am. Around 4 am, woke right up out of a dead sleep. Contractions were 6 minutes apart., Chrys waitd with me til6 am when we woke Jason. Arrieed at Langley Memorial around 7am. They checked me and decided to admit me to a room. I hopped into a warm shower for my back and leaned on a blue birthing ball while Jason rubbed my back. The nurse gave me an Adavan to help me relax. Then it was fetal monitoring til 1:30, where they decided to let me go home. UGH. So went home. I labored outside on the patio for the most part. Jason cooked a roast. Just as it was done, ands mom was rubbing my back, my water busted on the patio. 6:05pm. So I phoned LMH and they said to get back in. I was VBAC and strep B + so after my water broke I had to be admitted. Contractions were around 4 minutes apart when we arrived there and was checked- around 7pm. An IV was started with antibiotics. I got the epidural around 9:15. I remember after having decided to go ahead and get one that it took what felt like forever. The contractions were coming in such strong waves and my back was aching so back it felt like it was being ripped apart. Chrys, Tammy and Jason were all told to leave and let me rest around 9:30 and were gone til almost 12. I was mad at my nurse for sending them away, but grateful that Flo, Jasons mom showed up around 10:30 and kept me company. She brought a stuffed turtle for baby. Just after midnight I was checked and found to be at 9 cm. After a few contractions I felt a strong urge to push and started pushing. Dr. Mah ended up giving me an episiotomy as baby was posterior, or facing backwards (I refer to it as sunny side up lol) and needed help to get out.He was born at 1 am on the nose. Saturday July 5th 2003. She put him on my chest right away. Jason cut his cord. Aiden Anthony was 8 lbs 12.9 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.We left the hospital on the 6th.
