Re: For thos with BFP after TR
I did change my lifestyle while ttc.
Up until my TR surgery I was a heavy drinker.
Almost daily I drank shots of whiskey in my coffee, I was a smoker (only when I drank, but I drank every day) I was in actuality a bit of a mess. The TR almost didnt happen because my d/h said forget it.
He was not impressed with my drinking. Truthfully, few people knew I drank as much as I did, because I always drank a bit here and there, most people didnt even realize. Until the weekends, when I would get REALLY slammed.
I needed this ray of hope... wanting my TR baby... i wanted it so badly that I quit everything before my surgery. And have NEVER looked back. I am SO happy being sober and smoke free....
I did cut back on my coffee to three cups/day, because everywhere I read said that could most likely be a safe limit.
I drank lots of water to stay hydrated, 2 litres/day. I started my prenatals even before my surgery, because i know the most important time for Folic acid is in the weeks leading up to adn the first few weeks of pregnancy. Waiting until one is pregnant to start with Folic Acid can be too late, and being older and slightly more likely to have a child with 'issues' I knew that at least by taking folic acid i was helping things.
I think all those things affect fertility once we get older.
In our early twenties, it seems hard almost to NOT get pregnant, and then later, when we really want to get pregnant, it seems alot harder.
Good rule of thumb..
while ttc , treat your body as though you are pregnant.
