We have both. She'll be in the bassinet in our room the first several months then she'll move into the crib.
Here is the bassinet we have. I really like it. It has a drop side so I can pull it right next to our bed, and just pull her into bed to nurse with me at night. Plus, the bed part detatches, like a moses basket, so I can take it with us when we travel (well...road trip stuff... no way would I take it on a plane,
