Default Re: doctor apt. yesterday and NST today

Unfortuantely no. I had a blood clot in the beginning of my last pregnancy. I had the genetic testing done and started on Lovenox while I was still in the hospital from the blood clot. My brother takes Coumadin and has had several strokes due to the blood clotting disorder. I stayed on 120mg of Lovenox for most of my last pregnancy and then switched to 80 mg. This pregnancy I am on 80 mg. On Tuesday I see the perinatologist and will be switched over to Heparin. I switched at 36 weeks my last pregnancy too. Our perinatologist said there shouldn't be a problem with getting Heparin by now. Hoping that is true.

With Kate, they induced me at 38w5d because her weight gain had declined. They told me at an appt at 8am and I had already taken my first dose of the day (I take Heparin twice a day and will this time too.) Once I was admitted to be induced, I was given Cervadil and Pitocin and still was in labor for about 36 hours. I was okay without an epidural for most of the labor but because Kate was refusing to come out, I eventually needed it and was so glad I was able to get it. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to have one if I needed it or that I would have to have a c/s. The doctors had spent months telling me that a c/s was the last possible resort because it's dangerous with blood clotting disorders. But I ended up having one and was totally fine. In fact, the perinatologists want me to have another c/s but my OBs and I have decided to do a VBAC.

Please let me know if you have any questions. My DH and I did a ton of research when this first happened to us last year. I remember I had a thousand questions and no one to answer them and it was frustrating!
