LOL here are some incomplete thoughts of my own....
the decreased weight gain doesn't mean 'wean' FWIW....it may mean she is getting more active. Joey lost a lot of his chub (not all of it LOL) when he started crawling/pulling up. She is about at that stage. Don't let grandma pressure you if you are not ready. (But then again, don't let me pressure you if you are!) I truly don't think Joey is ready to wean right now. And I *neva* *neva* *neva* would have thought I'd be in this position back in 06 when I was posting on my DI board about whether or not I thought I might breastfeed.

But I'll tell you what....it is such a useful tool.

And it is good for them. You know all that. The immunities and the other benefits of breastmilk just don't compare to anything science has tried to come up with. (IMHO) As a mommy who had to go back to work, I know what you're talking about....but I will tell you that J manages just fine w/o me during the day. At night is a little different, and it varies depending on the situation. He was at our sitter until 11:30 Saturday night. Put himself to sleep on their couch. So....she will manage. (This is the child who has never gone down w/o a boob or back patting at home).....ahem. He lays down on the floor at daycare and takes his nap. And grandma will find some other way to comfort her.

I'd say you'll want the BF'ing closeness while you are making the transition to returning to work. But again....JMHO....you gotta do what you gotta do.

(Jesus, when did I become such a lactivist? LOL)
