I guess it must be my turn to post here! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 12 years old, and was put on bcps. In my 20s, my doctor added metformin to the mix. I knew that TTC might be an issue for me, so we went off bcps in May 2007 to see what would happen. My first cy was perfect - 30 days, O'd on CD 15. In July, we actively started TTC. I O'd a few days later, but again, a relatively "normal" cycle, but a lot of spotting. In August, we tried again - I didn't O until CD 22, and things just felt wrong. I had my progesterone tested, and it was low that cycle. The next cy, we tried Clomid. I O'd late, on CD 25, but my progesterone was great. Unfortunately, we met with an RE and learned DH had a bad s/a - terrible motility. The following month, we were all set to try IUI . . . and they found a fibroid in my uterine cavity. I had to have it removed, and we were cleared to resume ttc November 22, 2007. We tried an IUI with Clomid and Follistim, but . Then I had cysts the following cycle, so I was forced to go back on bcps. We tried another IUI in February 2008, and once again, .

We decided to move on to IVF. I started bcps on March 1, 2008, then started Lupron on March 19, 2008. When I went in for my Lupron evaluation, my estrogen was a little high (72, and they like to see 50), so they had me wait 3 more days on Lupron. I went back again on March 28, 2008 and was cleared to start stims. I was on Follistim and Luveris. The first 3 days I was stimming fast (11 follicles - although I was disappointed and thought it should be higher). They kept me at the same dose for 2 more days, and it looked like I only had 5 or 6 follicles going, and they told me I was in danger of having the cycle canceled. They increased my meds, and 2 days later . . . SURPRISE!! My follicles grew by leaps and bounds. I had 7-9 follicles ready to trigger, and another 3-4 in the wings. I had 1 more day of stims, then triggered. At ER, they only retrieved 9 eggs. I was disappointed, because I thought they'd get 13. Of the 9, only 7 were mature, and only 6 fertilized. Of the 6 embies, only 4 were growing normally, so I was really disappointed. We had to do a 3 day transfer. We had 1 perfect 8-cell embie, 1 5-cell with fragmentation, 1 4-cell with framentation, and a 3-cell with lots of fragmentation. We decided to transfer the best 3, and see if the little 3-cell embie would grow for freezing.

About 1-2 days after the transfer, I got sick with bronchitis. I had to go on antibiotics, and prednisone. I was SURE I would never get pregnant. I had to do 3 hcg booster shots, so I was testing out the shots with HPTs. I noticed at 12 DPO that the lines were getting darker, but I thought it was my imagination. It wasn't until about 15 or 16 DPO that I realized we might actually be pregnant.

On April 25, 2008, I went in for a beta . . . and it came back at 617! I was stunned - a real ! We are hoping this little one sticks.
