My daughter got married on March 30th. She & her husband had a best man (friend), maid of honor (sister of the bride), flowergirl (cousin of the bride) & ringbearer (their 21 mo son) in her wedding party. We also asked my nephew to help usher with my son. We didn't require him to wear a tux.
At the rehearsal my sister had to stand in because my nephew had to work. She pitched a fit when she found out that my nephew wouldn't be sitting at the head table (only the B & G, BM & MoH, & FG & RB were at the headtable), screamed at my daughter and made her cry and was rude to everyone from that point forward. The next day at the wedding she continued to be rude to most of us and complained to anyone that was listening about how wrong it was for my nephew to be excluded from the head table and not be recognized, and how hurt my nephew was over the whole thing.
Were we wrong in not placing both ushers at the head table. My son, who also walked his sister down the aisle did not have a problem with this. My nephew didn't appear to be to upset either (I have sent him a note and asked him to call me).
Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.
