Update 3/27
Hey everyone!
Here’s the latest update... and its a GOOD one!!
Skye is doing GREAT. Yesterday she started breathing on her own, with the help of the tube. You can see it, its like a double breath. She started wiggling her feet and squeezing fingers.
ready for the best part????
SHE OPENED HER EYES.
It was definatly the happiest moment of this whole journey for me. Today she opened her eyes and looked at me and squeezed my finger. Shes definatly the miracle baby.
Shes coughing up her own flem which is great because she is able to do it herself. They took the large screw out of her head, took off all the monitors and bandages. She is going the the bathroom on her own. The only thing still on her is a breathing and feeding tube and a few IVs for her pain medication.
I have been in SUCH a good mood. To think that as of Sunday they told us she woudnt make it through the night. NOW we might be able to HOLD her in a matter of days. The swelling in her head went down a significant amount.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR PRAYING FOR HER. I truly feel like God heard us.

NEWEST UPDATE

Few things..
1. Ashley is holding Skye. They are getting a helmet for her head that they have to have specially made they dont have one her size. No one in the history of the hospital has ever survived and injury like hers that young. The youngest was 10 months. Miracle baby without a doubt in my mind. We will get to hold her as soon as she has her helmet. I cant wait!!
(#1 only pertained to skye so I did not copy the rest)
I really feel the same as Amanda, that she is a miracle and that God really heard everyones prayers. (though I know it is what he wills but still) It will be a while until we know what kind of damage has been done. Obviously at 6 weeks, she has little motor skills and does not talk so only time will tell if these things have been effected. I'm praying that the worst case scenario, she is just a little behind. I just keep hoping for the best!
