Icon7 Today's appointment.

So I had to go in half an hour early today for my NST, and ended up being in the labour room for 90 minutes (which is where the test is done) as the baby kept moving and they kept losing her heartbeat. Little bugger! It was so uncomfortable as her head is right up under my rib cage, so when I was lying on my back it felt like my lungs were being crushed! I am telling you, these breech babies are somewhat even more uncomfortable than head-down babies!

Anyway, to cut a long story short, she is doing fine and still stubbornly head up. Doctor says she has a 1/1000 chance of turning now, but the fluid levels are only 11 so he very much doubts it will happen. Once again, both her legs were totally straight so he was unable to attempt ECV. So it is definite!! Next Tuesday, February 26th at 8.30am (Singapore time) I will be meeting my baby girl! I am a bit disappointed though, as apparently the theatre sister is very strict about photos being taken in the room so we will be unable to take any pics of her when she is first born and will have to wait till she is outside in her crib. MInd you, I am sure DH will try to exert some power over her as he is a towering 6ft4, though I doubt it.

I ended up buying my kids their presents from the baby today. I bought James 3 die-cast Thomas trains (he loves them) to go with his Thomas table, and an amazing book on Dinosaurs. I bought Charlyse a "wedding Barbie" as she is constantly watching our wedding video and dresssing up as a bride, and a wonderful book on "princesses". I think they will really love their gifts. We are taking them to the zoo this saturday as we haven't been in ages and the next few weeks we will be lying low.

It is kind of surreal to have all this happening now. I guess I was in denial about having a c-section, and would still love it if she turns and I don't have to go through with it, but the thought of knowing she will be here on Tuesday is pretty cool! As my mum said, I am now very well qualified to give advice to women on almost everything....

- I have had the long and painful 34 hour labour with baby posterior and episiotomy and forceps delivery, all without any form of pain relief!

- I have had the induction with epidural, resulting in the most amazing birth ever!

- I have had high risk pregnancy early in the piece, resulting in a breech baby and will be delivering by c-section.

- I have had 4 miscarriages.

- I have a child with a terminal disease.

- I have given birth to both a boy and a girl!

Could it get more varied than that? Yes, I have been through enough to be well qualified to give at least a little advice. LOL!!!!

Oh, apart from that, she is now almost 7lbs so she will at least be a decent size (considering she will be early).

So the countdown begins.......
