Re: Question about BFing and pregnancy
Welcome! Sorry it took me so long to respond, been pretty busy lately ;
I did just that and am currently tandem feeding my 2yr old with my 8wk old. Talk about time consuming, LOL!
The odds are that your supply will decrease dramatically in a couple of months, mine did, and then it turned into something that looked like transitional milk, very yellow and sticky. I had nothing but colostrum for the last 3 months or so. None of that stopped DD#1 from nursing but she has always been a big comfort nurser.
The good news is that even colostrum has lots of nutrients in it. Vivian was a little older when I first got pregnant (15mos or so) but I had decided to do child-led weaning and was worried the pregnancy would wean her sooner than she wanted to. Nope. Now she nurses almost as often as my baby does, LOL.
It did get pretty painful because I had the MOST sensitive nips, but after the birth everything went back to normal. My toddler made engorgement and plugged ducts history very fast!
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
