Default Re: Dh

I was able to get to the hospital about an hour after dh. (My dad told me about 6,000 times to drive slowly.)

He had a severe allergic reaction to *something*. We don't know what. They sent him home with a prescription for Benadryl and a steriod. Not sure what it is. I'll definately be looking it up in a while.

Dh said he thought he was going to die during the ambulance ride. He saw his feet (that's all he could see) and they were turning dark purple. He was having such a hard time breathing. His tongue and throat were swollen. His heart was beating irregularly. They told him he was in tachacardia. They gave him Benadryl, gave him an iv and monitored him. They were able to break the rythm his heart was in without too much intervention.

Now for the stuff that gives me absolute chills. Dh was in the bathroom upstairs when he started having the reaction. He NEVER uses that bathroom. I woke up with the alarm at 6am and got right out of bed. I usually sleep until 6:30. Had he been anywhere else in the house or had I not gotten out of bed when I did, there would be a much different outcome.

He's looking better right now. The swelling is considerably reduced. He still feels awful.
