Default Re: Summer Chit Chat IV

Shannon, I'm hypothyroid and have been for years. I always wondered if this was at all related to my IF problems. It has been controlled via medicine for years, though, and I think that's the most important thing. Thyroid problems can be related to IF but I think it is mostly in women who have undiagnosed problems and are not being treated for it. Did they say whether you are hypo- or hyperthyroid? The treatment differs--at least at first. My mom is the opposite of me, she's hyperthyroid.

I agree with Carrie about PCOS and diabetes being linked. I think Metformin may even be a diabetes drug.

The good news is that you may have found the source of your IF problems and now they can be fixed and you can get pregnant. I also think you will probably feel better physically after you are treated for these things. I don't know how you could have an undiagnosed thyroid problem b/c when mine got bad I thought I must be seriously ill! I felt much better after I went on meds. Good luck and feel free to ask me more questions.
