I think that going from one to two is a huge adjustment, but I also think that the adjustment from 2 to 3 is pretty big, too. I think that after 3, once you're used to being outnumbered by the kids, the adjustment gets easier. Of course, I'm still TTC #4, but I'm speaking from the experience of keeping other kids... when I had one, keeping one other baby was rough; when I had 2, keeping one other was hard; but now that I have three, I frequently keep my 2 nephews and occasionally a young cousin as well.
