Re: 2008 Primaries
Frankly, I want anyone who can get elected. I like Hillary, but she is too polarizing and a Hillary campaign makes me very nervous. I would love to see Barack Obama run but I don't think he will yet. Maybe Evan Bayh or Joe Biden could be good possibilities. Or better yet, Mark Warner---a Democratic governor of a Republican state---proves he can win in a red state.
Really, I want someone who won't roll over to vicious republican attacks---someone who can stand up and take back the so-called "values voters ." I am sick to death of the only values being abortion and gay marriage with a little flag-burning thrown in. Values is seeing that life is sacred at all stages---not just before birth. Republicans care an awful lot about life until they are actually born, but to hell with them when they start to affect their wallets. I am sick and tired of the republican machine (which is effective, I will admit) telling voters what they care about and that basically if you vote democratic you are some sort of godless, baby-killing heathen. I am none of the above, I am a regular church attender and you would never catch me voting republican. Whew....guess I should get down off my soapbox for now!
