I have a C-section date!

I posted this in one of my replies to Ruth and forgot to put it on a seperate post, so here goes.

I was getting worried about how I stood on a VBAC with this hospital so I spoke with a L & D midwife last week she spoke with head of Antenatal who gave me an appt for Yesterday (27/9).

She told me that she was all for VBAC's provided they go uncomplicated! and my diabeties will also have an effect on the decisions that will be made. As it stands at the moment, if I go into Labour in the next week or so on my own, they will allow me to go for a VBAC but wont allow instruments because if the shoulder gets stuck it could cause both of us too many problems. She said she will only let me stay at stage 2 for around 1 hr and have me stop if I dont progress (as with DS). As rare as uterine ruptures are, she told me that she has only ever seen two in her career (15 yrs) and 1 was last week!

Going solely on the details of the last u/s on 13/09 the baby was already measuring 2 wks ahead which is bad news as it means he's getting bigger than expected at this point. She did however warn me that as each day passes, my chances of a c-section increase!

Then we booked a c-section date Friday 21st October 2005!!! I'm so excited now! knowing that I only have a little over 3wks to wait at the worse case senario. If you ask me, I personally think he will be here by 11th or 13th October, I just have a feeling! Keep your s that I get to try for my VBAC, that means possibly being in L&D by the end of this week!!!
